Atlético Bets on the Future: Obed Vargas Completes Move from Seattle Sounders

Obed Vargas has officially completed his move to Atlético Madrid, marking a major step forward in the young midfielder’s career as he leaves MLS for one of Europe’s most demanding environments. The move comes after Vargas turned down interest from several European clubs as well as Liga MX side Club América, choosing Atlético for the sporting project and the opportunity to develop under Diego Simeone. An Alaska native who represents Mexico at the international level, Vargas is no stranger to Atlético either, having previously faced the club during the 2025 Club World Cup.
